SRV's "Lenny"

Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Lenny" Stratocaster
Fender c.1965 Stratocaster Serial #L81409
Purchased by Guitar Center, Inc at the Crossroads Guitar Auction, Christies, New York, 24 June 2004, for $623,500
Lenny was discovered in 1976 in a Dallas pawn shop and originally invented as a birthday present for Stevie. Payment included both cash and Stevie's own prized leather jacket!
The original rosewood neck was swapped for a maple version – coutesy of Billy F. Gibbons. Stevie's name initials and signature were emblazoned on the pick-guard, neck plate, on top and inside of the well-traveled flight-case. A hand-written dedication from baseball legend Mickey Mantle adorns the back of the guitar.
Stevie primarily played Lenny on his most heartfelt love songs including 'Riviera Paradise' and of course the namesake song itself 'Lenny'.
