Avui tornen els "papers de Salamanca" a Catalunya. L'alcalde de la ciutat castellana parla d'expoli, i no es refereix a l'expoli de l'exèrcit feixista, sinó al que segons el seu entendre constitueix l'expoli del gobern socialista en favor de Catalunya. Per contra, la ministra Calvo lamentava la seva deslleialtat (suposo que es referia a la Constitució espanyola i a l'Estat de Dret, i al deure que tenen tots els alcaldes d'actuar de conformitat amb la llei).

Avui el gobern de Zapatero es col·loca una altra medalla (i intenta driblar crítiques que vénen de Catalunya pel tema de l'Estatut) i fa justícia reestablint uns documents que van ser expol·liats per l'exèrcit feixista després de la Guerra Civil. Han estat molts anys de lluita per part de les autoritats i la societat civil catalana, i la lluita ara té la seva recompensa. No és aquest un gest de Zapatero amb el tripartit català, sinó un estricte compliment de la llei i un ajust històric que era més que necessari. A veure quants més en vindran!

Avui he tingut un convidat a les meves classes. Era un membre de l'ONG "Building with Books" (http://www.buildingwithbooks.org/) , una organització que construeix escoles a països del Tercer Món amb recursos provinents de les escoles de secundària dels EEUU. Ens ha parlat de la pobresa i ha compartit algunes dades amb els meus estudiants: EEUU té el 4% de la població mundial i produeix el 40% dels seus residus i el 48% de les armes. També té el 28% dels presos de tot el món. A més, es gasta quatre vegades més en maquillatge que en ajuda exterior als països pobres. Res, quatre dades. Quina injustícia. I quina mala llet!
